Episode 161 – Cincinnati, Ohio USA

Thanks for listening to the podcast.  Let’s break-up downtown by areas.  In the Over The Rhine are there is Rheingiest Brewing, Northern Row Brewery & Distillery, Findley Market (since 1855), and Somerset Bar (India motif). Heading closer to downtown and the Ohio River is Voodoo Brewing, Ghost Baby, Quan Hapa (yummy Okonomiyaki), Teak OTR (Thai), and Jeff Ruby (Steak House).  If you want to go subterranean in Cincinnati to go into the brewery lagering cellars go to Brewing Heritage Trail.  As for museums you have William Howard Taft National Historic Site, and Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal among others.  Just to the West and up the hill from Union Terminal is Incline Public House.  Another great vantage point for viewing the city.  I like Bellevue Hill Park for a view of the city looking toward Kentucky.  In Mount Adams check out Luca Bistro French restaurant, and The Blind Lemon Bar.  In Hyde Park go to Coffee Emporium and then stroll around the neighborhood, or go to The Echo and get diner style breakfast.  Across the Ohio River in Kentucky there is Newport on the Levee, which includes the Newport Aquarium.  For bourbon go to The Party Source, and breweries check-out Hofbrauhaus and Wooden Cask Brewing.
