We just got back from Cuba in April 2024. What a place. Much easier to travel in than I expected, and the people were wonderful. It is a cash only society. They love American dollars and Euros. We were there to support the Cuban people and we gave our Air B&B hosts both spices and powered milk. Both of which were much appreciated. If you buy a SIM card in the US for Cuba make sure that you pick it up in Terminal 3. Note that Southwest is in Terminal 1 and 2, which is not connected to Terminal 3. You must take a taxi to get between the two. Most importantly this is the link to the Air B&B we stayed at in Havana. Obispo Street in the old town is a pedestrian street filled with bars, restaurants, and souvenir shops. It also has the tourist agency which I found helpful. Arka was our favorite bar. I said it was on Carlos III Street. This is not true because what I did not realize is that Carlos III turns into Simon Bolivar Street, and this is where Arka is located. Bixly was the “high end”, yet not owned by the government restaurant, actually on Google Maps it is called El Biky. Perhaps I was incorrect in what I was calling it on the podcast. Life is an adventure go have one.
If you have been thinking about getting one of these credit cards use my links: Capital One Venture X, Southwest Airlines Personal and/or Business Cards, Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Business Ink Cards, and the IHG (Holiday Inn) Cards. If you use my links to sign up for the card I get some points, and again it doesn’t cost you anything to help out the show. Some of these credit card links do not last long. If the link doesn’t work please contact me and I can send one to you in real time. Remember, if you are unable to pay your credit cards off monthly then it is not worth getting these. Thanks so much!
