Don’t be afraid to go to Albania. Lovely people and lovely beaches.  Do be aware of driving and some potholes!  We stayed in Golem, Albania at the Klajdi Resort & Spa.  You can find this property on Booking.com.  This place was right on the beach and was extremely nice and clean.  Especially for 99 euros per night we paid (with breakfast).  It has a big outdoor pool as well.  In Durres, Albania was visited the Roman ampitheater.  If you are in Durres swing by, otherwise no need to go out of your way.  We also drove to the Unesco World Heritage site of the city of Berat. We started at the castle way above the old city and then strolled the old city after visiting the castle.  We ate lunch at Bar Restorant Ajka, which can be found on google maps.  It a great location to view the city and the river.
