Welcome to the Zipping Around the World Podcast! I’m Dan and I’ll be your podcast host. I love traveling and I want to share my experiences and knowledge with you. I also have a desire to learn from all the guests that I will have on the podcast as well.
A little background, I’ve been traveling to Europe since 1993, but I really started going every year since about 2007. This podcast will cover the entire world. I have been to Europe, Asia, Africa, and of course North America. For some further insight I’ve been to Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, England, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Vatican City, Luxembourg, Poland, Switzerland, Monaco, Austria, Morocco, Czech Republic, Slovakia (although only on a train, so does that count?), Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Belize, Honduras, Mexico, Canada, Grand Cayman, St. Maarten, Gibraltar, Barbados, Martinique, Antigua, Gibraltar, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas US Virgin Islands, and Japan. I realize several of these locations are not independent countries but are British, French, Dutch, and United States territories. Also, many of these countries I have been to several times, especially Western Europe and Japan. The United States destinations are also in play because the US is a great place to travel too, especially for my international listeners. I have been 38 or the 50 states and most of the major cities.
One of the main reasons that I am producing this podcast is because I would like to focus on travel logistics. A lot of podcasts talk about the awesome temple in Japan or awesome cathedral in Europe, but what I really want to know is how did you get there? Walk? Metro? Trams? Buses? Trains? Airplanes? Rental Cars? I also have an affinity for finding great places to have a beer or cocktail, and I’ll work to pass them on to you.
