Episode 156 – Helsinki, Finland Part 2

Here is part 2 of my discussion on Helsinki.  Again, we highly utilized the Helsinki Card.  We went to the Suomenlinna Sea Fortress a UNESCO World Heritage site.  Go early and catch the guided tour compliments of the Helsinki Card.  You bought it so go ahead and take advantage of it.  After you get off the ferry, go to to building in front of you and look for information on the tour.  We again used the hop-on hop-off bus to see more of the city. Here are all the sites that we saw with the use of the Helsinki Card – Sinebrychoff Art Museum (saw “A Monk Reading” by Rembrandt), Ateneum art Museum, Amos Rex Museum, Kamppi Chapel, Temppeliaukio Church (Church of the Rock), and City Highlights Cruise.  This card is a great value!  If you are into Saunas then go to Loyly Sauna.  It’s got great architecture, and is full of the locals, and just a short walk down the road is the restaurant Birgitta Hernesaari.  It’s great for a drink by the water and is out of downtown.  There is also a small beach by it as well.  Don’t forget to stop by Stockmann’s Department Store for a visit.  Also, by market square by the harbor look for Helsinki Bryggeri for a craft brew and a good hamburger.  Their happy hour is the best.  One further note.  If you want to sail to Stockholm, Sweden look into Silja Line Ferry.

If you would like to help the show and you have been thinking about getting one of these credit cards use my links: Capital One Venture X, Southwest Airlines Personal and/or Business Cards, Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Business Ink Cards, and the IHG (Holiday Inn) Cards. If you use my links to sign up for the card I get some points, and again it doesn’t cost you anything to help out the show.  Some of these credit card links do not last long.  If the link doesn’t work please contact me and I can send one to you in real time.  Remember, if you are unable to pay your credit cards off monthly then it is not worth getting these.  Thanks so much!
