Welcome to Episode 112. Going to Rye, England and ending the day at the birthplace of Iron Maiden at the Cart and Horses Pub. Rye is a small village close to the sea, but only about 1 hour outside of London. It is a great get-away from the big city. The beach near Rye is called Camber Beach and I was told by a local that it is the best beach in the UK, and with all the people of the train going to it I bet there is some truth in the statement. We ate and drank at the local pub. It was Cinque Port Pub. There food was good, but they do not serve all day. When the cook leaves no food is served, even something easy to make. I also enjoyed St. Mary’s Church it is worth the cost of admission to go up into the bell tower and steeple. The views from the roof as excellent for the area. If you are an Iron Maiden fan this is a good trip to visit the Cart and Horses pub as you come back in from Rye, and the pub is in Stratford on the East side of London. Tell the bar staff why you are there and they will treat you right.
