Episode 102 – European Trip Planning & Eurail Pass – London, Brussels, & Edinburgh

Episode 102 – my daughter is studying abroad in Nantes, France, and we are going to meet her at the end of her studies in Brussels.  One of my favorite beer cities. We all got a Global Eurail Pass, and to “work it” on your phone you will want to download the Rail Planner app.  If you are going to use the Eurail Pass on high speed trains throughout Europe there is a good chance you will still need to pay for a reservation.  Reservations on the Eurostar that goes between London (St. Pancras International Station) and Paris or Brussels was $140 for four people.  The French TGV requires paid reservations as well.  One note for overnight trains, my daughter recently took the night train between Budapest and Prague.  She had two bunks/beds in her room and she was worried if her roommate was going to be a man or not.  It turns out her roommate was a women, and the lady told my daughter that women stay with women and men stay with men.  Years ago in the 90’s I trained in 6 person bunk rooms with Kristi and we had males and females in our rooms.  Perhaps times have changed?  I mentioned London Heathrow Cars, so here is the link.  The Heathrow Express is the fastest way into the city, which is about 15 minutes.  You will pay for the speed.  Great for business travel or to get to a pint.

If you have been thinking about getting one of these credit cards use my links: Capital One Venture X, Southwest Credit Card, and the Hyatt Credit Card. If you use my links to sign up for the card I get some points, and again it doesn’t cost you anything to help out the show.  Thanks so much!
