Episode 81 – Niagara Falls Travel (United States and Canada)

I hope you enjoyed the episode.  Here is the important information that I covered in the show.  Origin of the Buffalo Wing is Anchor Bar.  Don’t worry, even though it says it is a bar you can take the kids!  Take the Amtrak train from New York City on the Maple Leaf Train.

I only discussed Horseshoe Falls, but there are actually three waterfalls at Niagara Falls.  Horseshoe Falls spans both Canada and the United State as the Niagara River divides the two countries.  The other two falls are called Bridal Veil Falls and the American Falls which are entirely in New York state.  The river gets divided by Goat Island, and that is why there are three falls.  Actually Bridal Veil Falls is created by Luna Island, which further divides the Niagara River.

United States side of Niagara Falls:  Niagara Falls State Park, Cave of the Wind Wooden Walk Way, Aquarium of Niagara, Seneca Resort and Casino.  North of Niagara Falls, NY is Old Fort NiagaraMaid of the Mist Boat Ride.

Canada side of Niagara Falls:  Ripley’s Believe It or Not, Niagara Distillery, Hornblower Niagara Funicular and Cruises, Fall Cliff Hill Casino, Casino Niagara, Cuban Cigar Shop

About 15 miles north is Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ontario Canada, and you drive right through wine country to get there.  Check out Prince of Wales Hotel, but bring your wallet!  Go to Queens Royal Park, and Simcoe Park. Get around on Zoom Leisure Bike Rentals when you visit Fort Mississauga, Fort George, and Butler’s Barracks.

Don’t forget to stop by Silversmith Brewing if you are thirsty and not driving.
